Tehran international airport halts incoming flights amid heightened regional tensions

Date:

All incoming flights to Tehran suspended indefinitely after missile strikes on Israel.

Tehran’s main international airport has suspended all incoming flights until further notice following Iran’s missile strikes on Israel, according to local media reports on Sunday.

Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation ordered the suspension of flights bound for Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport, the country’s primary international gateway. The decision was announced shortly after Iran launched missiles toward Israel amid escalating regional tensions.

According to the Iranian news agency Mehr, authorities said the suspension would remain in effect until further notice. The airport had only resumed operations in April after being closed for several weeks due to security concerns linked to the wider conflict in the Middle East.
