The new Dubai Summer Surprises promotion will give away one home every week over a 12-week period.

Dubai: Shoppers in Dubai will soon have the opportunity to win a home by spending Dh500 during this year’s Dubai Summer Surprises, as the city rolls out one of its largest retail promotions aimed at boosting summer shopping and tourism.
Officials from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism announced the new Dubai Summer Surprises campaign during the department’s first stakeholder meeting of the year, revealing that 12 homes will be awarded over a 12-week period.
Under the promotion, shoppers who spend Dh500 at participating malls and retail outlets across Dubai will automatically enter a weekly draw through a digital receipt scanning system.
The campaign is being organised in collaboration with Dubai Chambers and supported by property developer Binghatti.
“We are also taking retail promotion to a different level. For the first time, you can win a home in Dubai — and not just that, a home in Dubai will be given away every week for 12 weeks,” said Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE).
“For 12 weeks, we will have 12 homes, with 12 lucky winners each receiving a home in Dubai,” he said.
Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism officials said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to boost mall footfall, increase retail spending, and support tourism, hospitality, and entertainment sectors during the summer season.
“For the first time, shoppers can win a home in Dubai every week for 12 weeks,” officials said during the presentation.
Dubai Summer Surprises
The promotion comes as Dubai prepares for an expanded edition of Dubai Summer Surprises, which begins on July 2 and will feature shopping discounts, hotel deals, live entertainment, food and beverage promotions, and family-focused activities across the city.
Officials said this year’s DSS calendar has been expanded with additional promotions and events following a slowdown in regional travel demand linked to earlier geopolitical tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran.
Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism said the city has introduced several new retail and tourism initiatives in recent months to sustain business activity and consumer demand during this period of uncertainty.
The department also noted that this year’s retail promotions will be “more than what we have ever put in the calendar.”
Alongside Dubai Summer Surprises, Dubai is gearing up for a packed summer events calendar featuring GameExpo at the Dubai World Trade Centre, restaurant promotions, esports competitions, and entertainment programmes across major venues in the city.
Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism also revealed that Dubai Restaurant Week recorded more than 55,000 covers this year, with daily participation nearly tripling compared to previous editions\
