The highest temperature recorded across the country on Thursday was 48.4°C in Muzaira at 1.45pm UAE time.
On Friday, temperatures in both Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are expected to reach a high of 45°C, with lows of 27°C in both emirates.
In Dubai, temperatures are forecast to range between 26°C and 43°C.
