The Community Development Authority (CDA) has launched a series of humanitarian programmes aimed at strengthening family stability and spreading joy during Eid.

Dubai: In the lead-up to Eid Al Adha and in line with the objectives of the “Year of Family,” the Community Development Authority (CDA) has launched a series of integrated humanitarian and community initiatives aimed at supporting families, strengthening social stability, and spreading joy across the emirate.

The programmes, delivered in collaboration with government entities, private organisations, and charitable partners, reflect Dubai’s long-standing humanitarian approach rooted in solidarity, generosity, and efforts to enhance quality of life for all residents.

As part of its Eid Al Adha programme, the CDA has launched the “Eidiya” initiative, benefiting more than 11,700 registered recipients.

The initiative is aimed at families receiving financial assistance from the CDA, as well as priority groups such as minors and fishermen, ensuring that aid reaches those most in need during the festive period.

Officials said the programme reflects authentic Emirati values associated with Eid, while also reinforcing the social support system for vulnerable segments of the community.

Dh27.7m programme

The total value of the initiative has reached Dh27.7 million, highlighting the scale of coordinated community support provided this year.

The programme has been implemented in collaboration with several partners, including the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Union Coop, Dubai Land Department, Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, and the Tarahum Charity Foundation.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the CDA, said the initiatives reflect the values of compassion and solidarity that define UAE society.

“Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global model in humanitarian and social work through impactful initiatives that place people and families at the centre of its development priorities, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to build a more connected and cohesive society and reinforce a sustainable system of social protection and empowerment for all community members,” said Buhumaid.

Tailored support for fishermen

As part of the initiative, fishermen have been provided with prepaid cards issued by Union Coop to help cover essential needs during Eid.

The CDA also held a co-design session with fishermen to better understand their wellbeing and identify key challenges, ensuring future support programmes are more targeted and sustainable.

In further support of social initiatives, Beit Al Khair Society, in collaboration with the “Jood” platform, contributed Dh5 million to the Community Development Fund.

The contribution is intended to strengthen long-term support systems for families and vulnerable groups, while also reinforcing cooperation between philanthropic organisations and government entities.

Eid fruit baskets

In addition, the Community Development Authority (CDA), in partnership with the UAE Food Bank under Dubai Municipality, has distributed 250 fruit baskets as part of its Eid Al Adha outreach efforts.

The initiative benefited 65 participants from the “Waleef” programme and 185 senior citizens at the Al Barsha majlis.

The baskets were delivered directly to beneficiaries’ homes to ensure convenience, while also enhancing care and support for elderly residents and community members.

Strengthening Dubai’s social development model

The CDA said these initiatives reaffirm Dubai’s commitment to advancing sustainable community development and strengthening humanitarian partnerships.

By supporting families, senior citizens, fishermen, and other priority groups, the programmes aim to enhance social cohesion and further position Dubai as a global model for social welfare and community wellbeing.
