Dubai Humanitarian coordinates delivery of critical medical aid from WHO, MSF, and UNICEF to Afghanistan by air.

This shipment will support more than 250,000 people for three months.

Dubai: Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian (DXBH) carried out a vital humanitarian airlift to Kabul, Afghanistan, delivering 96 metric tonnes of life-saving medicines and medical supplies to assist communities enduring ongoing humanitarian challenges.

Departing from Dubai World Central Airport (Al Maktoum International Airport), the shipment included relief supplies from the World Health Organization (WHO), Doctors Without Borders (MSF), and UNICEF. The aid is expected to support over 250,000 people over three months by enabling essential healthcare services.

Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, said: “This airlift to Afghanistan demonstrates the humanitarian community’s capacity to adapt assistance delivery to rapidly changing conditions on the ground. While some operations continue through established channels, others require the swift creation and activation of new corridors—by air, land, or multimodal routes. Our priority remains ensuring life-saving medicines and relief supplies reach vulnerable communities. Through close coordination with government partners, humanitarian organisations, and logistics providers, we overcome operational challenges and implement practical solutions to keep aid moving. Recent land shipments to Gaza and Lebanon, alongside this airlift to Afghanistan, illustrate how multiple delivery methods are being mobilised simultaneously to sustain emergency humanitarian response.”

Dubai Humanitarian continues to assist its network of 80 members, including UN agencies, international organisations, non-profits, and commercial partners. In the past two weeks, it has coordinated the delivery of over 140 metric tonnes of relief supplies to Lebanon, Gaza, and Afghanistan.
