Primark announces launch date for its debut Dubai store

Date:

After years of anticipation, Primark is finally arriving in Dubai this year, with three flagship stores planned. Shoppers can expect the same famously low prices that have made the UK retailer a favourite.

Known for its wide selection, Primark offers everything from full outfits to homeware and beauty essentials, all at budget-friendly prices—making it possible to grab a Harry Potter duvet cover, a novelty mug, and a pack of micellar wipes in a single visit.

The opening date for Dubai’s first Primark has now been confirmed: the store at Dubai Mall will welcome customers on Thursday, March 26, according to a statement from the Alshaya Group.

The second Primark store in Dubai is scheduled to open at City Centre Mirdif in April, followed by a third location at Mall of the Emirates in May, though exact dates for these openings have not yet been confirmed.

Looking beyond the UAE, Primark plans to expand further in 2026 with new stores in Bahrain’s City Centre Bahrain and Doha Festival City in Qatar.

The news was first confirmed earlier this year by Alshaya Group CEO John Hadden on Virgin Radio Dubai’s Kris Fade Show. Hadden announced,

“We’re going to open not one, not two, but three stores in Dubai in the first quarter of next year—Dubai Mall, City Centre Mirdif, and Mall of the Emirates.”

Shoppers have now spotted the upcoming Dubai Mall store’s façade next to Morelli’s Gelato on the lower ground floor, revealing its exact location.

The first Primark store in the region opened at The Avenues Mall in Kuwait on Thursday, October 23, and Dubai will be the next city to welcome the brand.

Will Primark in Dubai be affordable?

Yes — the store will maintain the brand’s famously low prices. Jeans will start at Dhs50, and basic t-shirts at just Dhs15. Hadden said,

“Price is the same. We’re going to do jeans at a starting price of Dhs50 and a basic t-shirt will be Dhs15. I’m so excited I can’t sustain it. It’s just brilliant.”

What is Primark?

Primark was founded in Dublin, Ireland, as Penney’s and launched 55 years ago. Today, it has over 470 stores across 17 countries in Europe and the US.

The retailer sells a wide range of items — from clothing and accessories to home furnishings, cosmetics, and children’s wear — and is celebrated for offering trendy styles at budget-friendly prices, making it a go-to destination for style-savvy shoppers seeking value.
