Dubai shuts four roads after drone strike sparks fuel tank fire near DXB

Date:

Dubai Police announced the temporary closure of Airport Street and the Airport Tunnel, urging motorists to take alternative routes.

After a drone-related incident near Dubai International Airport on Monday morning caused a fire in a fuel tank, authorities closed several roads. Dubai Police confirmed that Airport Street and the Airport Tunnel were temporarily shut.

Al Garhoud Bridge leading to Casablanca Street was also closed, along with the Cargo Village and Marrakech Street intersections toward the airport. Authorities advised residents to take alternative routes to stay safe and help prevent congestion during Monday morning traffic.

Dubai authorities have contained a fire caused by a drone strike near Dubai International Airport, which led to a temporary suspension of flights. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Monday’s incident marks the third at Dubai’s airport, one of the world’s busiest hubs, since Iran began attacks on Gulf nations on February 28, which Tehran says target US assets in the region.

The ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran has disrupted global aviation, with flights cancelled, rescheduled, or rerouted as much of Middle Eastern airspace remains closed due to missile and drone threats.
