The posts targeted state institutions, the Armed Forces, and other Gulf countries.

Qatar’s Criminal Investigation Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations has arrested an Arab national for publishing a series of social media posts containing direct insults directed at the State of Qatar and its institutions.
The posts circulated within suspicious online groups, prompting swift action by the authorities.
Threats to public security and state symbols
Authorities stated that the posts not only insulted state institutions but also attempted to undermine the role of the Qatari Armed Forces, questioned the government’s handling of the current crisis, and defamed several Gulf countries.
Authorities described the actions as a direct violation of Qatari laws and regulations, with the potential to disrupt public order and threaten national security.
Legal action underway
The arrested individual has been referred to the competent authorities to undergo the necessary legal proceedings. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that it will continue to take strict legal measures against anyone using social media to spread misleading information, rumors, or content that could incite public unrest, harm state institutions, or threaten national security.
Commitment to public security
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the safety of citizens, protecting the integrity of state institutions, and maintaining the country’s stability. Citizens are urged to rely solely on official sources for accurate information and to report any suspicious online activity to the relevant authorities.
