Kuwait Bans Export of All Food Products to Protect Domestic Supply

Dubai: Kuwait has prohibited the export of all types of food products via land, sea, and air ports, following urgent instructions issued by the General Administration of Customs.

The move comes under Ministerial Decision No. (20) of 2026, issued by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, which bars the export of food commodities to safeguard food security and maintain stability in the domestic market.

The customs authority confirmed that the instructions have been circulated to all customs departments, with officials tasked to strictly enforce the decision and take action against any violations.

Authorities emphasized that the measure aims to ensure sufficient food supplies amid regional developments, instructing all border crossings to prevent the export of food items in any form.

“The General Administration of Customs confirmed that radiation monitoring systems at all customs ports are fully operational, inspecting goods, containers, and vehicles as part of a 24/7 integrated oversight system coordinated with relevant authorities.”

“The authority added that no abnormal radiation levels have been detected, with all monitoring indicators remaining within safe limits. Inspections and verifications continue in line with approved technical and regulatory standards.

The customs authority reaffirmed its commitment to national security, emphasizing the protection of the country and the professional implementation of decisions issued by competent authorities.”
