Dubai: Qatar’s authorities have started evacuating residents near the US Embassy in Doha as a temporary precautionary measure, the Qatar Ministry of Interior said.

In a social media statement early Thursday, the ministry said the evacuation is being carried out by the relevant authorities as part of measures designed to safeguard public safety.

Officials confirmed that appropriate accommodation has been arranged for residents affected by the evacuation as part of the preventive measures.

The ministry also urged the public to follow official and trusted sources for accurate information and updates.
