Iran missile attack on Turkey draws UAE condemnation.

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the attempted targeting of the Republic of Turkey with an Iranian ballistic missile.
Air defence systems operated by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) successfully intercepted and destroyed the missile before it reached Turkish territory.
Serious escalation
The UAE described the hostile act as a serious escalation, a flagrant violation of state sovereignty, and a direct threat to regional security and stability.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the expansion of attacks to additional countries is condemned under all legal and political norms, adding that such actions constitute a dangerous escalation that undermines de-escalation efforts and heightens regional tensions.
Turkey on Wednesday warned Iran against actions that could escalate the regional conflict after NATO defence systems intercepted a missile launched from Iranian territory toward Turkish airspace.
Ankara stated that the ballistic missile was detected traveling through Iraqi and Syrian airspace before heading toward Turkey, where NATO air and missile defence systems stationed in the eastern Mediterranean destroyed it before it could enter Turkish territory.
Alternative phrasing for a news-style flow:
Turkey said the ballistic missile passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace before approaching its borders, but NATO air and missile defence assets in the eastern Mediterranean intercepted and destroyed it before it reached Turkish territory.
