IndiGo and Air India schedule 58 flights on March 4 due to airspace disruptions.

Date:

More than 1,600 flights have been canceled so far, with passenger safety remaining the top priority.

India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation is closely monitoring the evolving airspace situation in West Asia and its impact on international flights. To date, 1,221 flights operated by Indian carriers and 388 by foreign airlines have been canceled due to the ongoing disruptions.

Resumption of operations
Indian carriers are gradually restarting long-haul flights using alternative routes that bypass restricted airspace. Special measures have been implemented to assist stranded passengers, including additional flights and coordination with foreign aviation authorities and Indian missions abroad. Today, Indian carriers are operating 24 flights, while Emirates and Etihad have conducted nine flights from the Gulf in the past 24 hours.

Planned flights for March 4
On March 4, Indian carriers have scheduled 58 flights, including 30 by IndiGo and 23 by Air India and Air India Express. Foreign airlines operating between India and the Gulf are also running limited services, subject to ongoing airspace restrictions.

Passenger safety and guidance
Passenger safety continues to be the top priority. Airlines have been directed to provide clear communication to travelers and comply with regulations regarding refunds, rescheduling, and passenger assistance. The Ministry is also monitoring airfares to prevent excessive price increases.

Check flight updates
Passengers are advised to verify their flight status directly with their airlines and rely solely on official sources for updates. The Ministry continues to coordinate with airlines, airports, regulatory authorities, and the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure safe operations and smooth passenger movement.
