Doha reports that two espionage cells targeted critical infrastructure on behalf of the IRGC.

Dubai: Qatari authorities have apprehended two cells allegedly linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), detaining 10 suspects accused of espionage and sabotage targeting the country’s critical infrastructure, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The arrests came after careful monitoring and tracking operations by Qatar’s security agencies as part of ongoing efforts to protect national security and stability.
According to officials, seven of the suspects were assigned to gather intelligence on sensitive and military sites across Qatar, while the remaining three were tasked with sabotage operations, having reportedly received drone training.
Investigators reported that they found coordinates and locations of key facilities and installations in the suspects’ possession, along with communication devices and technical equipment believed to have been used in the alleged operations.
Officials stated that the suspects admitted during questioning to their ties with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and acknowledged that they had been tasked with carrying out espionage and subversive activities.
Qatar’s State Security authorities have called on citizens and residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate agencies.
The announcement comes amid rising regional tensions and increasing concerns across the Gulf regarding threats to critical infrastructure.
