Dubai’s iconic skyline enveloped in fog: Sheikh Hamdan shares striking images of Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab

Date:

The National Centre of Meteorology confirmed that foggy conditions are expected to persist until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, shared a striking image of the emirate’s skyline on Tuesday morning as a dense blanket of fog settled across the UAE.

Posted to his official Instagram account, @faz3, the photograph captures the spires of the Burj Khalifa and the distinctive silhouette of the Burj Al Arab rising above a thick layer of white mist. The Crown Prince is known for documenting Dubai’s landmarks during seasonal weather shifts.

NCM issues visibility alert

Meanwhile, the National Centre of Meteorology issued a formal advisory as visibility dropped sharply across coastal and inland regions. Forecasters confirmed that foggy conditions are expected to persist until 10 a.m. Tuesday, significantly affecting the morning commute.

The warning highlighted that horizontal visibility may fall drastically in several areas, particularly near the coastline. The NCM continued to monitor the situation throughout the morning as the fog bank moved across Dubai and Sharjah.

Travel disruption and road safety

Traffic authorities in Dubai and Sharjah urged drivers to exercise extreme caution, noting that fog was at its densest during peak travel hours. To reduce the risk of accidents on major arterial roads, the National Centre of Meteorology advised motorists to follow road safety protocols carefully and remain vigilant while driving.

The disruption follows the seasonal pattern of fog that typically affects the Emirates at this time of year. The National Centre of Meteorology expects visibility to improve gradually throughout the day but continues to coordinate with local authorities to monitor inland areas where pockets of mist may persist.
