Blizzard warnings were issued for New York City, Long Island, and Boston, while states including New Jersey, Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts declared states of emergency.

New York City officials imposed a ban on non-emergency travel overnight, regional airports cancelled thousands of flights, and even Broadway performances were called off as the region prepared for a major nor’easter.

Travellers are urged to check with their airlines before heading to the airport, as flight disruptions continue.
