Traffic Alert: Fog, Accidents, and Rush-Hour Congestion Disrupt Major UAE Roads

Date:

The NCM advises motorists to drive carefully and adhere to safety guidelines in the current weather conditions.

Dubai: Monday morning saw daily commutes across Dubai and the Northern Emirates severely disrupted, as a series of accidents and heavy peak-hour traffic coincided with challenging weather conditions nationwide.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has urged motorists to exercise caution and follow all road safety protocols. Reduced visibility and slick road surfaces contributed to multiple incidents on major arterial routes.

Sharjah-Dubai Bottlenecks:
The heaviest disruptions were reported at the Sharjah-Dubai border, where a crash on Al Ittihad Street near Al Khalidiya caused major tailbacks for Dubai-bound traffic. The incident worsened the usual morning congestion, with motorists facing bumper-to-bumper conditions stretching back into Sharjah’s Al Majaz area along Al Wahda Street.

Incidents on Dubai City Routes:
Real-time Google Maps data showed a crash on Sheikh Rashid Road near Al Kifaf, slowing traffic for motorists heading toward the city centre. Further west, a second accident on Al Wasl Road in the Jumeirah First area added delays to an already busy stretch of the coastal route.

Traffic Congestion Extends Across Dubai and Northern Emirates

The morning congestion spread to Dubai’s outer bypasses, with heavy traffic reported on Emirates Road, particularly near Wadi Al Safa 3, and on Al Khail Road. Commuters also faced long delays on Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and Al Qudra Road, while slow-moving traffic was noted on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street.

The disruption extended into the Northern Emirates. A crash on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Ajman slowed southbound traffic, while another incident on the Sharjah Ring Road in the Industrial Area caused further blockages. Emirates Road near the Al Badee suburb remained heavily congested throughout the morning.
