Suicide or Accident? How Dubai Police Used Digital Twin Technology to Solve Rider’s Bridge Fall

Date:

Virtual modeling underscores the advanced forensics of Dubai Police

Dubai: A delivery rider who was initially believed to have jumped from a bridge was later confirmed as a victim of a hit-and-run, thanks to a digital reconstruction conducted by Dubai Police using advanced “Digital Twin” technology.

Investigators first relied on witness statements suggesting suicide. However, virtual reconstruction revealed that the motorcycle had been struck from behind by another vehicle, whose driver fled the scene.

The collision caused the rider to fall from the bridge while the motorcycle stayed on top, leading authorities to reclassify the incident as a hit-and-run.

Digital Twin technology solves structural puzzle

The same technology also played a key role in explaining a partial collapse of a basement parking facility. Digital forensic analysis identified prolonged water leakage as the cause of weakening in the reinforced concrete.

Advanced load simulations further revealed uneven stress distribution across supporting columns, which accelerated deterioration and ultimately triggered the structural collapse.
