UAE Coronavirus update: 1,246 Covid-19 cases, 1,533 recoveries, 3 deaths

More than 19.7 million Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the UAE so far.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Wednesday reported 1,246 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 1,533 recoveries.

Three deaths were also reported.

As many as new 145,523 Covid-19 tests were carried out, taking the total number of tests carried out in the country to nearly 19.7 million so far.

On Wednesday, Dubai launched its free rollout of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against Covid-19 after the first batch of vaccines were transported from Brussels on an Emirates flight.

During the first phase, the vaccine is prioritised for citizens and residents aged above 60 or those with a chronic illness above the age of 18. Residents who have been trying to call the hotline number 800342 are being asked to complete an online eligibility survey and if deemed eligible an appointment will be booked.

Following an ease in the Covid-19 situation, Abu Dhabi announced updated guidelines to enter the emirate for UAE citizens and residents, as well as returning Abu Dhabi residents.
