The National Center of Meterology (NCM) on Friday recorded a minor earthquake, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, that hit the coast of the emirate of Fujairah, which was felt by some local residents.

The quake occurred at 6:08am (local time) at a depth of 10 kilometres.

A brief alert issued by the NCM said it was slightly felt by residents without any effect.
