85 years strong: MANN-FILTER highlights innovation and sustainability in filtration

Date:

A continued benchmark in the aftermarket from inception to the present.

Dubai: MANN-FILTER is celebrating 85 years of success, tracing its origins back to 1941 when Adolf Mann and Dr Erich Hummel founded what was then Filterwerk Mann & Hummel. While the MANN-FILTER trademark was officially registered in 1951, the brand today marks 85 years of identity and excellence in filtration.

“For 85 years, MANN-FILTER has stood for innovation, quality, and trusted partnerships,” said Onur Ozyapici. “We are proud to celebrate this milestone with our customers, partners, and colleagues across the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, Africa, and worldwide. This achievement reflects the dedication of our employees, the loyalty of our customers, and the strength of our relationships.”

From local origins to global premium brand

From its beginnings in Ludwigsburg, Germany, MANN-FILTER evolved into an international premium brand, expanding globally from the 1960s onward. Today, it is regarded as one of the leading players in the independent global aftermarket sector.

“For a brand, 85 years is more than a milestone — it is proof of its ability to adapt, remain relevant, and continue creating value over time,” said Azhar Jaleel. “MANN-FILTER’s journey reflects the balance between heritage and progress.”

Setting standards and shaping trends

MANN-FILTER has consistently focused on innovation and has helped shape key industry developments. Examples include CO₂-reduced filters made from renewable raw materials and the FreciousPlus cabin air filter, a biofunctional solution developed specifically for the aftermarket in 2014.

A true innovation that has gone on to set a new industry benchmark, including within the original equipment (OE) sector—where new product developments are typically introduced first.

The FreciousPlus filter is designed to capture allergens, particulate matter and harmful gases, while also helping to inhibit the growth of bacteria and mould.

Further initiatives aimed at promoting more sustainable mobility are already in development, reinforcing MANN-FILTER’s position as a forward-looking innovator and trendsetter in the industry.

Award-winning and widely recognised

Over the years, numerous awards have reinforced MANN-FILTER’s strong standing among both professionals and end users. These include honours such as the CLEPA Innovation Award, the PARTSLIFE Environmental Award, several Best Brand Awards, the German Design Award, and the German Brand Award. Some of these accolades have been received repeatedly over multiple years, reflecting the consistent dedication and performance of teams worldwide.

A yellow-and-green icon and motorsport favourite

Beyond its technical reputation, MANN-FILTER has also built a strong visual identity over the decades. Its distinctive yellow-and-green branding is now instantly recognisable globally.

In motorsport, the brand’s “Mamba” has become a fan favourite, bringing the company’s identity to life on racetracks worldwide. In 2025, the Mamba celebrated its 10th anniversary.

An anniversary with a future focus

Reflecting on the milestone, Cedric Dackam said:

“We thank our customers, partners and workshops worldwide for their long-standing loyalty. With more sustainable materials, innovative technologies and a clear focus on quality, MANN-FILTER is shaping the filtration of the future — responsibly, powerfully and ready for the coming decades.”

The 85-year milestone reflects a balance of tradition and progress, with a continued focus on innovation, sustainability and long-term industry leadership.
