Weather in the UAE: Scorching heat and dusty skies, with highs reaching 47°C

Date:

The Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman will see slight to moderate sea conditions.

The UAE is expected to experience hot and generally fair weather on Thursday, with temperatures reaching up to 47°C in inland areas, accompanied by fresh winds that may raise blowing dust and sand, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.

The NCM said temperatures will range between 42°C and 47°C inland, 36°C to 41°C along the coast and islands, and 32°C to 37°C in mountainous regions. Winds will be light to moderate but may strengthen up to 40 km/h, shifting from south-westerly to north-westerly directions and potentially reducing visibility in dusty conditions.

The weather authority has forecast generally fair conditions to persist through Monday. However, humidity is expected to rise during the nights and early mornings on Friday and Saturday across some coastal and inland areas, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist formation.

On Saturday, cloud cover is expected to form over parts of the eastern regions, while fresh winds may continue to lift blowing dust—particularly towards the west—with speeds reaching up to 40 km/h.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. However, the Arabian Gulf may turn rough at times on Friday and again by Monday night, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.
