UAE Weather Forecast: Rain, Fog and Dusty Winds Expected Over Next Five Days

Date:

UAE Weather: Rain Expected in Eastern Areas Today as Convective Clouds Form, Fog Likely Overnight.

Abu Dhabi: Parts of the UAE’s eastern region could experience rainfall on Saturday afternoon, October 17, while rising humidity overnight may lead to fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The weather bureau has forecast fair to partly cloudy conditions across the country, with convective clouds likely to form over eastern areas during the afternoon, bringing a possibility of rain.

Temperatures are expected to climb to between 37°C and 42°C in inland regions, while coastal areas and islands will see highs ranging from 35°C to 40°C. Mountainous areas will remain relatively cooler, with temperatures between 28°C and 33°C.

Humidity levels could rise to 90 per cent in some coastal and inland areas overnight and into Sunday morning, creating favourable conditions for fog or mist formation.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally becoming stronger during cloud activity and causing blowing dust. Wind speeds will generally range between 10 and 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h at times.

Sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will remain slight.

Rainfall possible across UAE until Wednesday

Sunday, October 18: The UAE is expected to experience fair to partly cloudy skies, with convective clouds forming over some northern and eastern areas during the afternoon, potentially bringing rainfall.

Humidity will rise overnight and into Monday morning, increasing the possibility of fog or mist in coastal and inland areas. Southeasterly winds will gradually shift to northwesterly, with speeds occasionally reaching 40 km/h and stirring up dust.

Monday, October 19: Fair to partly cloudy weather will continue, with a chance of afternoon showers in some eastern and southern areas as convective clouds develop.

Humid conditions overnight and into Tuesday morning could trigger fog or mist in parts of the western region. Winds may occasionally reach 40 km/h, causing blowing dust in exposed areas.

Tuesday, October 20: Convective clouds are forecast to form again over eastern and southern parts of the country during the afternoon, bringing another possibility of rainfall.

Humidity is expected to increase overnight, with mist potentially developing in some western areas by Wednesday morning. Winds could intensify to 50 km/h during cloud activity, resulting in blowing dust and reduced visibility in affected areas.

Wednesday, October 21: The weather will remain fair to partly cloudy, with afternoon convective cloud development potentially producing rain over eastern and southern regions.

Humidity will rise overnight and into Thursday morning, creating conditions favourable for fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas. Winds could reach 40 km/h at times, stirring up dust.

According to the NCM, the unsettled weather is associated with an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.
