Convective clouds may form over eastern UAE on Saturday as temperatures climb to 48°C inland.
Dubai: Temperatures are expected to climb as high as 48°C in parts of the UAE on Saturday, while convective clouds may form over eastern areas during the afternoon. Winds are also forecast to strengthen at times, potentially raising dust and reducing visibility.
The National Centre of Meteorology said conditions will generally be fair to partly cloudy, with humidity expected to rise overnight and into Sunday morning, particularly across some coastal areas. The NCM is the UAE’s federal weather authority.
Inland areas are expected to record temperatures between 43°C and 48°C, while coastal areas and islands could see highs ranging from 39°C to 45°C. In the mountains, temperatures are forecast to reach between 30°C and 37°C.
Winds are expected to blow mainly from the southeast to northeast at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, strengthening to around 35 km/h along the coast and up to 40 km/h over inland and mountainous areas. The stronger winds may stir up dust, while sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
On Sunday, the UAE will continue to experience fair to partly cloudy weather, with clouds likely to develop over eastern areas in the afternoon. Humidity is forecast to rise overnight and into Monday morning across some coastal areas, increasing the possibility of mist. Winds could reach speeds of 35 km/h, while both seas are expected to remain slight.
On Monday, convective clouds may form over eastern parts of the UAE during the afternoon. Coastal areas could experience fog or mist overnight and into Tuesday morning, while winds may strengthen to 40 km/h, potentially lifting dust.
The possibility of rain is expected to increase on Tuesday, as convective clouds developing over eastern areas could bring rainfall. Temperatures are also likely to drop, particularly in western parts of the country. Higher humidity overnight and into Wednesday morning may result in fog or mist across some coastal and inland areas.
By Wednesday, rain-bearing convective clouds could develop over eastern and southern areas during the afternoon. Winds may reach 40 km/h, with the potential to blow dust and sand. The Arabian Gulf could also turn rough at times, particularly in western areas.
