UAE weather alert: Dust storms, winds up to 40 km/h, and rough seas expected this week.

Date:

Strong winds are kicking up dust, with rough sea conditions reported.

The UAE is expected to experience generally fair weather this week, with temperatures varying and active winds reaching up to 40 km/h, which may cause blowing dust and rough sea conditions, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM added that the country is under the influence of a weak surface low-pressure system extending from the east, a high-pressure system from the west, and an upper-air high-pressure ridge.

Today’s weather is expected to remain generally fair, with light to moderate winds strengthening at times and sea conditions ranging from moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Temperatures are forecast to range between 39°C and 43°C across coastal and inland areas.

On Wednesday, temperatures are expected to rise, while south-westerly to north-westerly winds of up to 40 km/h may trigger blowing dust across several regions. Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are likely to become rough by the afternoon and very rough at times, especially in northern areas.

Temperatures are expected to dip slightly on Thursday before rising again on Friday, with dusty conditions and active winds persisting throughout the week.

By Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop towards the western regions, while the Arabian Gulf is likely to remain moderate to rough at times.
