Rush-Hour Gridlock Hits Major Dubai Routes Amid Accidents and Road Closures.
Motorists travelling into Dubai on Tuesday morning are facing significant congestion across several key routes, with some of the heaviest delays reported on roads connecting Sharjah and Dubai, according to live traffic maps at around 8am.
Traffic is moving slowly along Al Ittihad Road (E11) near Al Nahda and Sahara Centre, with queues extending towards the Dubai border. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) is also heavily congested through Sharjah’s Industrial Areas and Muweileh, while delays are developing along the E88 near Al Yash.
Several internal roads across Sharjah’s industrial districts are experiencing traffic build-up, with live maps also flagging a number of accidents and road closures.
Congestion spreads across Dubai
Within Dubai, heavy traffic is affecting Al Qusais, particularly along the D62 and D95 near Al Qusais Cemetery and Madina Mall.
Motorists are also experiencing delays around City Centre Mirdif, along Airport Road (D89) near Al Rashidiya and on the D83 towards Dubai Festival City. Slow-moving traffic is also being reported across parts of Deira, Al Karama and Oud Metha.
Al Khail Road (E44) is congested through Al Quoz and near Dubai Hills, with particularly heavy delays around Ghadeer Al Tair. Traffic is also moving slowly along Dubai-Al Ain Road (E66) near Nad Al Sheba.
E311 and JVC routes face delays
Commuters leaving Jumeirah Village Circle are encountering delays on roads leading towards the E311 interchange.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road is experiencing slow traffic around Dubai Sports City, Motor City and Arabian Ranches. Umm Suqeim Street (D63) and the D61 are also seeing heavy congestion between Al Barsha South, Motor City and Damac Hills.
Delays are also building around Al Furjan, Discovery Gardens and The Springs.
Sheikh Zayed Road (E11), however, is moving relatively smoothly across most sections, while roads around Dubai Creek Harbour and Ras Al Khor are also reporting generally better traffic flow.
Motorists are advised to factor in additional travel time, check live traffic conditions before beginning their journeys and consider alternative routes where possible.
