Dusty conditions, cooler coastal weather and rising nighttime humidity forecast this week.
Dubai: Temperatures across the UAE are expected to rise on Monday before easing gradually over the following days, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), which has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies and light to moderate winds across much of the country.
Monday will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with temperatures climbing across most areas. Light to moderate south-easterly winds will gradually shift to north-westerly during the day, bringing occasional fresh breezes and the chance of blowing dust in exposed areas.
Winds are forecast to blow at 10–25km/h, freshening at times to reach 35km/h, which could lead to blowing dust and reduced visibility in some exposed areas.
Meanwhile, sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 48°C in Liwa, making it one of the hottest locations in the country. Highs of 45°C are expected in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, while Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ruwais and Al Sila are set to see temperatures of 44°C.
Elsewhere, temperatures are forecast to reach 43°C in Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah and Delma, while Ajman and Umm Al Quwain can expect highs of around 40°C. The islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa are expected to be relatively cooler, with maximum temperatures of 38°C.
Conditions are expected to become slightly cooler on Tuesday, particularly along parts of the coast, as south-westerly to north-westerly winds strengthen, bringing occasional blowing dust.
Wind speeds are forecast to increase to 40km/h, while sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to become slight to moderate, turning rough at times in western waters.
A further slight drop in temperatures is forecast for Wednesday, with fair to partly cloudy skies and humid conditions expected to develop overnight into Thursday morning, particularly across coastal and some inland areas.
North-westerly winds will continue through Wednesday, freshening at times and raising dust, before easing on Thursday. Fair to partly cloudy weather is expected to prevail, with seas remaining slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Sea of Oman.
