UAE temperatures could reach 49°C as rain chances rise

Date:

UAE weather: Temperatures may reach 49°C as rain and stronger winds are expected in the coming days.

Dubai: Temperatures are forecast to climb to 49°C in parts of the UAE on Friday, while cloud cover is expected to increase over northern and eastern areas, with a chance of light rain by Saturday morning.

Friday will be generally fair to partly cloudy, with clouds becoming more prominent at times over the north and east. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally becoming fresh, with speeds reaching up to 35 km/h.

Maximum temperatures are forecast to range from 44°C to 49°C inland, 40°C to 46°C along the coast and on the islands, and 32°C to 38°C in mountainous areas. Seas are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

On Saturday, temperatures are expected to dip slightly in some coastal areas, while northern and eastern parts of the UAE may remain partly cloudy at times. Humidity is forecast to rise overnight and into Sunday morning along parts of the coast, increasing the possibility of mist. Winds could again reach speeds of up to 35 km/h.

Cloudy conditions are likely to persist on Sunday, especially across northern and eastern areas, with a continued chance of light rain. Coastal areas are expected to become humid again overnight, with mist possible by Monday morning.

More unsettled weather is expected at the start of next week. On Monday and Tuesday, convective clouds may develop over eastern parts of the UAE during the afternoon, bringing a chance of rainfall.

Winds are also expected to strengthen at times, reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h and potentially raising dust and sand in some areas.

Despite the changing conditions inland and across the east, sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea throughout the forecast period.
