UAE introduces a unified salary payment deadline for the private sector, effective from June 1, 2026.

Date:

Companies registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation are required to pay employees’ wages through the approved Wage Protection System or any other systems adopted by the ministry.

The UAE has introduced a new rule under the Wage Protection System that sets a unified salary payment deadline for private sector employees as the first day of each month for the previous month’s wages, effective from June 1, 2026. Any payment made after this date will be classified as delayed, following a ministerial resolution issued by the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

According to the rule, the first day of every Gregorian month is designated as the official due date for wage payments in private sector establishments for the preceding month, and any payment beyond that date is considered a delay.

All establishments registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation must pay wages on the specified due date through the approved Wage Protection System or any other systems adopted by the ministry.

Employers are also required to submit documents and data proving wage payments in line with the rules and mechanisms set by the ministry.
