The digital service is designed to streamline procedures and minimize trips to medical fitness centres.

Dubai: Expatriates in the UAE can now complete the medical fitness screening required for residency visa renewal from home, thanks to a new service launched by Emirates Health Services (EHS).
The initiative, called “Residency Renewal from Home”, enables residents to undergo the mandatory medical fitness test without visiting medical centres. A specialised medical team visits the applicant’s home at a scheduled time, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to modernising government services and offering more flexible, convenient solutions.
The service is intended to simplify the residency renewal process and offer a more convenient experience, especially for residents who prefer handling their procedures from home or face mobility or time constraints.
According to Emirates Health Services (EHS), residents can book the service by calling the dedicated number 800887. Once an appointment is scheduled, a specialised medical team from “Wiqayati” preventive health centres visits the resident’s home to conduct the medical screening, following approved health protocols and the highest medical standards.
The home service covers the full medical examination required for residency renewal, carried out under strict quality and safety measures to ensure accurate results and safeguard residents’ well-being.
Once the medical fitness screening is completed, applicants receive their results via text message or email, allowing them to continue the residency renewal process through official channels without visiting medical centres or waiting for results in person.
Emirates Health Services (EHS) confirmed that the service is currently available exclusively for residency renewal applications. It is part of the organisation’s broader efforts to modernise government healthcare services and introduce innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and access to health services linked to official procedures.
The initiative also aligns with the UAE’s wider push toward digital transformation and smart healthcare, providing flexible options for residents to complete essential procedures more quickly and conveniently. This supports the country’s vision of proactive government services that prioritise quality of life and community well-being.
By reducing visits to medical fitness centres, the service is expected to ease congestion at healthcare facilities while ensuring that medical services continue to be delivered efficiently by qualified staff using approved testing equipment.
