UAE food supplies remain secure as domestic farms increase production, according to the CEO of Ghitha.

Ghitha says that ports, farms, and cold-chain logistics are working together to ensure essential food supplies remain consistently available.

Dubai: UAE consumers are expected to continue having steady access to everyday essentials—including dairy, poultry, eggs, edible oils, and fresh produce—despite pressures on regional shipping and supply chains, according to Falal Ameen, Group CEO of Ghitha Holding.

Falal Ameen, Group CEO of Ghitha Holding, said the UAE’s extensive logistics and production ecosystem is helping it withstand pressure on regional supply chains. He noted that the country’s port and airport network, growing domestic food production base, and strong cold-chain infrastructure are all contributing to supply stability, while local food companies continue to expand output to reduce reliance on imports.

“We have almost seven ports based in the UAE, and we can use any port, any seaport, any airport,” he said in an interview, adding that the UAE has already “laid the foundation” to ensure resilient food supply systems.

Ghitha Holding is the parent company of Al Ain Farms Group, which operates across dairy, poultry, eggs, and beverages, and forms part of the UAE’s broader strategy to strengthen domestic food production capacity.

Falal Ameen, Group CEO of Ghitha Holding, said food availability in the UAE remains stable due to the country’s diversified logistics networks and resilient infrastructure. He noted that multiple supply routes help ensure goods continue moving even during disruptions.

“We have sufficient product available all the time here,” he said, adding that one of the key priorities is ensuring consistent access to high-quality food in the UAE.

Ameen also pointed to lessons learned from past global disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Red Sea crisis, saying these experiences have helped businesses strengthen preparedness for future supply shocks. He added that the UAE’s geographic advantages and established trade infrastructure further support its food security resilience.

Falal Ameen, Group CEO of Ghitha Holding, said that boosting domestic production is the most effective way to reduce exposure to global food supply disruptions.

“We need to produce as much as we can in the UAE, then we don’t need to worry about any logistic or any other disturbance around the world,” he said.

He added that Ghitha’s food businesses are working with local farmers to increase production across key food categories, supporting the broader goal of strengthening the UAE’s food security and reducing import dependence.

“We are one of the largest local producers of poultry, dairy, and table eggs, and we are supporting local farmers to help improve and expand their production,” said Falal Ameen, Group CEO of Ghitha Holding.

He added that the group is pursuing deeper integration across its businesses through a farm-to-fork model aimed at strengthening supply chains, distribution, and market access.

In related developments, Al Ain Farms Group, backed by Ghitha, and NRTC Group have formed a joint venture to launch “Al Ain Taaza,” an ultra-fresh juice brand targeting around one-third of the UAE’s Dh500 million fresh juice market within three to five years.

Announced at “Make it in the Emirates 2026,” the partnership combines the strengths of Al Ain Farms Group—including brand equity, in-house bottle manufacturing, and a nationwide distribution network—with the sourcing, processing, and cold-chain capabilities of NRTC Group.

The new “Al Ain Taaza” brand is set to launch in Q3 2026, offering more than 15 flavours spanning refreshments, functional drinks, and smoothies, with nationwide availability from day one.

Falal Ameen, Group CEO of Ghitha Holding, said the company views market disruption as an opportunity to strengthen local production and build UAE-made food brands. “Ghitha is a long-term company, and we know how to manage challenges,” he said. “We don’t see difficulties as obstacles—we see them as opportunities.”
