UAE declares Eid Al Fitr 2026 holiday for private sector employees.

The Eid break may be prolonged to March 22, depending on the duration of Ramadan.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has announced the Eid Al Fitr holiday schedule for both federal government and private sector employees.

According to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the public holiday for federal government staff will run from Thursday, March 19, to Sunday, March 22.

Official business will recommence on Monday, March 23.

For private sector employees, the Eid Al Fitr holiday will be observed from Thursday, March 19, to Saturday, March 21. Authorities noted that if Ramadan completes 30 days, the holiday for the private sector will be extended to include Sunday, March 22.

The announcement gives employees and businesses the opportunity to plan for the Eid break, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan and is one of the most important religious celebrations in the Islamic calendar.
