Police have urged motorists to remain in their designated lanes and avoid reckless swerving.

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have issued a warning to motorists against sudden swerving and unsafe lane changes after releasing dramatic footage showing multiple serious traffic accidents caused by reckless driving.
The videos, published by Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters in coordination with the Monitoring and Control Centre, are part of an ongoing traffic awareness campaign aimed at enhancing road safety and reducing preventable collisions.
The footage shows several incidents where drivers made sudden lane changes or failed to stay within designated lanes, leading to collisions that caused significant vehicle damage and created serious risks for other road users.
Authorities said the campaign supports the strategic goal of improving smart road safety across the emirate and increasing awareness of hazardous driving behaviours.
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate has urged motorists to stay in their designated lanes, avoid sudden lane changes, and ensure the road is clear before attempting to change lanes or overtake.
Officials emphasised that unsafe swerving remains one of the leading causes of road accidents, often resulting in injuries, fatalities, and significant property damage.
Drivers were also reminded that lane discipline is essential for safe driving and plays a crucial role in maintaining smooth traffic flow, particularly on high-speed roads and busy highways.
