Dubai Sports Council Chairman Approves 2026–27 Sporting Events Calendar.

Dubai: Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, has approved Dubai’s sports events calendar for the 2026–27 season, alongside preparations for the emirate’s upcoming World Sports Summit.
Sheikh Mansoor announced the approval on X following a Dubai Sports Council meeting, where the emirate’s sporting plans for the coming season were reviewed.
He said the 2026–27 calendar will feature a diverse programme of sporting events and championships taking place across Dubai throughout the year.
The council also reviewed progress on projects and initiatives being implemented as part of the Dubai Sports Strategy 2033, which is aimed at further strengthening the emirate’s position as a major global destination for sport.
Sheikh Mansoor also reviewed preparations for the second edition of the World Sports Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 28 and 29.
The World Sports Summit is expected to bring together prominent athletes, sports leaders and industry figures from around the world, creating a platform to discuss the future of sport while highlighting Dubai’s expanding presence on the global sporting stage.
The latest plans also reflect Dubai’s continued focus on broadening its sports offering, ranging from major international championships to programmes aimed at increasing participation and supporting athlete development across the emirate.
Sheikh Mansoor praised sports clubs and federations for their efforts to support athletes, develop their capabilities and help them achieve stronger results in local, regional and continental competitions.
He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between different organisations across the sports sector, saying coordinated efforts can enhance the appeal of sporting events while supporting athletes at every level.
Such collaboration, he said, can also strengthen the contribution of the sports sector to Dubai’s wider economy and community.
Sheikh Mansoor said cooperation between sports federations and clubs in Dubai and across the UAE remains an important foundation for developing the sector and achieving national sporting objectives.
He also praised those working to develop athletes, identify and nurture emerging talent and prepare competitors capable of representing UAE national teams at the highest levels.
Sheikh Mansoor added that these efforts reflect the leadership’s continued support for the sports sector and reinforce the role of sport as an important part of society and the UAE’s broader development.
