Sheikh Khalifa re-elected as UAE President

Sheikh Khalifa was first elected President by the Supreme Council on November 3, 2004.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was on Wednesday reelected for a fourth five-year term as the country’s President by the UAE’s Supreme Council, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.

The Supreme Council expressed its deep confidence in the wise leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa, and wished him good luck to continue the journey of development and prosperity, thanks to his far-sighted wisdom and approach that reinforces the pillars of the renaissance of the dear homeland and its achievements, and fulfils the aspirations of its generous people, Wam reported.

Sheikh Khalifa accompanied the founder of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in the  70s and 80s up to the last century before taking over the leadership of the country after the death of the Founding Father. He worked for the greater prosperity of the UAE, and its growing prominence regionally and globally.
