Dubai Crown Prince honours young innovators behind award-winning Smart Irrigation Train.
Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, met four students from Dubai Schools – Al Khawaneej following their gold medal achievement at the International Greenwich Olympiad in London, held from June 14 to 20, 2026.
In a post on X, Sheikh Hamdan identified the students as Ali Al Jarwan, Khalifa Al Marzouqi, Omar Al Balushi, and Saeed Abu Al Shawareb. Their project, titled “Smart Irrigation Train,” secured the top honour at the global competition, competing against entries from more than 80 countries.
The Crown Prince described the students as a source of pride for the UAE and an inspiration for young people across Dubai. He said creative minds are among the nation’s most valuable assets, playing a key role in driving innovation, progress, and future prosperity.
Addressing students across Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan encouraged them to continue seeking knowledge with dedication, aim high without boundaries, and embrace excellence as a lifelong commitment.
The International Greenwich Olympiad is a global platform that brings together students from across the world to present innovative projects in fields such as science, technology, and sustainability.
