The project, a collaboration between the Saudi Ports Authority and Gulftainer, aims to enhance supply chain connectivity between Sharjah and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Ports has unveiled a new trade bridge connecting Sharjah in the UAE with Saudi Arabia, marking a key step toward enhanced logistics integration and more efficient cargo movement amid regional security tensions linked to the US-Israel-Iran conflict.

The corridor will facilitate smoother goods movement between Sharjah and Dammam by integrating land and sea transport networks. It is expected to cut transit times, boost operational efficiency, and strengthen coordination between ports and inland logistics hubs.

The project is a collaboration between the Saudi Ports Authority and Gulftainer, designed to enhance supply chain connectivity between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Key operational features of the corridor include direct links between Sharjah and Dammam, integration of multimodal transport, faster cross-border cargo transit, and improved coordination between maritime gateways and inland distribution centres.

The initiative’s value lies in boosting cargo flow efficiency, strengthening distribution networks, and increasing transport reliability between major regional markets. It is also set to facilitate smoother trade operations for businesses using Gulf transit routes.

From a broader economic standpoint, the trade bridge aims to deepen UAE–Saudi Arabia trade connectivity and support the growth of regional commerce. Officials anticipate that the corridor will provide faster market access and enhance overall supply chain resilience across key sectors.
