Dubai: Sharjah-Dubai Commuters Hit by Major Delays Following E311 Accident

Sharjah-Dubai commuters faced significant delays on Friday morning as peak-hour traffic built up across major highways and inner-city roads, according to Google Maps data.

A serious accident on the E311 near Expo City, heading towards Dubai South, caused major disruptions. Witnesses reported multiple vehicles involved, including a truck on its side and three heavily damaged cars.

“It’s heavily congested on the E311 near Expo City towards Dubai South. Multiple cars involved, truck on its side, and three cars obliterated,” said one passenger.

Traffic Update: Sharjah-Dubai Commute Impacted by Multiple Congestion Points

The E311 accident near Expo City has compounded already slow-moving traffic across several key commuter routes:

  • E11 (Al Ittihad Street): Heavy congestion in both directions from Al Khan, Sharjah, to Al Mulla Plaza, Dubai.
  • Industrial Zone Roads: Internal routes connecting Sharjah and Dubai are slowed by peak-hour volumes.
  • D92: Moderate delays from Al Mamzar to Abu Hail.
  • E311: Bumper-to-bumper traffic from Muwaileh Commercial area to Qusais Cemetery.
  • E44 (towards Business Bay): Slow-moving traffic near Dubai Design District.
  • E611 (Emirates Road): Traffic remains smooth in both directions.

Commuters are advised to plan for extra travel time or consider alternative routes where possible.

Google Maps also shows minor accidents on other roads, adding to delays across the network. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously and stay alert on busy routes.

Commuters traveling from Sharjah to Dubai are advised to allow extra travel time this morning.
