The move aims to address growing demand for convenient, cost-effective mobility solutions in the capital.

SelfDrive, the UAE’s digital mobility platform, has expanded its fleet in Abu Dhabi to cater to rising demand for affordable and flexible transport options across the emirate. The expansion introduces a broader selection of economy cars, sedans, and SUVs to its Abu Dhabi fleet, giving residents and visitors greater choice through daily, weekly, and monthly rental plans.
The move comes as more people in Abu Dhabi explore alternatives to traditional car ownership, with increasing interest in on-demand mobility solutions. SelfDrive said the growing demand for car rental services in Abu Dhabi reflects a wider shift in how residents, business travellers, and tourists access personal transport, favouring the convenience of app-based bookings over the upfront costs and long-term commitments associated with owning a vehicle.
A key driver of this growth has been the company’s flexible car subscription offering. Demand for monthly car rental plans in Abu Dhabi has been particularly strong among visitors, relocating professionals, and corporate customers seeking reliable vehicle access without long-term ownership commitments. SelfDrive said its monthly plans provide more cost-effective daily rates compared with short-term rentals, making them an increasingly attractive option for extended stays.
SelfDrive is also expanding its support for Abu Dhabi’s growing corporate sector and steady tourism activity by offering a wider range of well-maintained vehicles, from affordable hatchbacks to premium SUVs. Through its fully digital booking platform, customers can select, reserve, and manage their rentals online, with features including airport pickup, zero-deposit bookings, and flexible plan upgrades.
The expanded Abu Dhabi fleet is now available for booking through SelfDrive’s website and mobile application, alongside the company’s existing daily, weekly, and long-term leasing services available across the UAE.
