flydubai to restart direct flights on July 31, adding daily operations and Emirates codeshare in October.
Dubai: Travellers from the UAE will soon have another direct connection to Hungary, as flydubai resumes non-stop flights between Dubai and Budapest from July 31.
The Dubai-based airline said it will initially operate three weekly flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD), with daily services set to begin from October 25 ahead of the peak autumn and winter travel period.
The resumed route restores direct connectivity between the UAE and Hungary, giving passengers more convenient access to Dubai and onward connections to more than 120 destinations across flydubai’s expanding network.
The flights will also be covered under the Emirates and flydubai codeshare partnership, enabling passengers to book their entire journey on a single ticket, check baggage through to their final destination, and enjoy smooth connections across both airlines’ networks.
Strengthening ties with Hungary
flydubai first introduced flights to Budapest in 2021, and the airline said the service restart reflects its ongoing commitment to expanding its network across Central and Eastern Europe.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “The resumption of our Budapest service highlights our long-term commitment to Hungary and reflects the strong economic and cultural connections between the two countries.”
He added: “Budapest remains one of our key European markets. Reconnecting the Hungarian capital with Dubai allows us to provide more travel options for passengers across the region while further strengthening Dubai’s role as a global centre for business, trade, and tourism.”
More connections via Dubai
The resumed service will provide travellers from Hungary with direct access to Dubai, while also enabling convenient onward connections through the emirate to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Southeast Asia.
These destinations include Kenya, the Maldives, Oman, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said: “As we enter the busy autumn-winter travel season, the resumed service will create new opportunities for business and tourism growth across both markets.”
He added that through the Emirates partnership, passengers can benefit from “seamless connections, integrated itineraries, and expanded network access” across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Southeast Asia.
The Budapest route is the latest addition to flydubai’s expanding network, following the airline’s recent launch of services to Aleppo in Syria, Bangkok in Thailand, and Benghazi in Libya.
The carrier is also set to further expand its network with the launch of flights to Pokhara, Nepal, from September 23.
Schedule and fares
From July 31, flydubai will operate flights to Budapest three times a week, departing from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The route will expand to daily operations from October 25, 2026.

The service will operate under the Emirates-flydubai codeshare partnership, allowing passengers to earn and redeem Emirates Skywards Miles across both airlines’ networks.
