Ferdinand’s family settles in Dubai and puts UK home up for sale.

Dubai: Former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has listed his £10.5 million (Dh51.84 million) mansion in Kent for sale, months after moving to Dubai with his family.
The seven-bedroom property, located in the exclusive gated community of Farnborough Park in Orpington, covers 12,500 square feet and is set within 20 acres of landscaped grounds. Ferdinand purchased the estate for approximately £2.7 million (Dh13.33 million) in 2008.
The mansion features a gym, several reception rooms, a studio, an office, a triple garage and a spacious principal suite.
Ferdinand relocated to Dubai with his wife, Kate, and their children in August 2025, after stepping down as TNT Sports’ lead football pundit following a decade with the broadcaster. He said the move was largely motivated by his children’s education. The family had visited schools in Dubai in February last year. His business, Football Escapes, is also based in the UAE.
The family are reportedly living in a seven-bedroom villa in Al Barari, previously listed for around Dh32.5 million, according to Habitat UAE. The property features a basement cinema, rooftop terrace, swimming pool, garden and a kitchen equipped with Miele appliances. The principal bedroom includes a private balcony and dressing areas.
Al Barari has also recorded the sale of another seven-bedroom villa for Dh121.2 million, reflecting activity in the community’s luxury property market.
Ferdinand has spoken positively about the relocation, highlighting the lifestyle, safety and environment for his children. The sale of the Kent mansion marks another step in the family’s move towards establishing their life in Dubai.
