Dubai-based parking operator Parkin is expanding into Egypt after signing an MoU with three Egyptian companies to explore smart parking and mobility solutions in the country.

The MoU with Modon Misr for Asset and Facility Management, Mwasalat Misr and Redcon Properties marks Parkin’s first foray into the Egyptian market and adds to its efforts to expand beyond the UAE.

The partnership will explore how Parkin can combine its operational and technology expertise with its Egyptian partners’ local market knowledge, including the potential deployment of smart parking systems across existing and future parking assets.

Parkin CEO Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali said the agreement marks a significant step in the company’s regional expansion, as it enters the Egyptian market for the first time.

He said the partnership would create new opportunities for Parkin to apply its operational and technological expertise while expanding its parking management and smart mobility solutions in Egypt.

He added that Parkin would work closely with its Egyptian partners to explore how its technology, smart solutions and operational expertise could help address the country’s evolving urban mobility needs.

Al Ali said technology, data and operational expertise would be key to creating a more efficient, seamless and sustainable parking ecosystem, while improving the customer experience and supporting quality of life in urban communities.

Smart parking

Under the agreement, the companies will explore a range of smart parking technologies, including Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), AI-powered parking cameras, barrierless parking systems, digital permits and integrated parking management platforms.

The companies will also explore parking planning and development, policy frameworks, demand management strategies and technology-driven mobility solutions.

The partnership aims to improve parking efficiency and the overall customer experience while helping address Egypt’s evolving mobility needs.

Parkin, Dubai’s largest provider of paid public parking facilities and services, said the agreement is part of its strategy to identify expansion opportunities beyond the UAE, particularly in markets with potential for smart parking and urban mobility solutions.

Egypt’s urban growth

The Egyptian partners said the collaboration comes as the country undergoes rapid urban growth and develops new cities and communities.

They said the partnership would combine Parkin’s international expertise with local market knowledge to explore smart, integrated parking and mobility solutions suited to Egypt’s needs and future development.

Mohamed Aboutaleb, CEO of Modon Misr for Asset & Facility Management, said the partnership could help drive the development of parking and mobility solutions in Egypt as the country experiences rapid urban growth and expands its new cities and communities.

Aboutaleb said the collaboration would combine Parkin’s international expertise with the Egyptian partners’ local market knowledge to develop smart, integrated solutions tailored to the country’s needs and future ambitions.

The companies said the wider goal is to create a more integrated parking management ecosystem, supported by technology, data and operational expertise, while improving efficiency, user experience and sustainability across Egypt’s growing urban communities.
