Oman Fines Employers OMR3.24 Million Over Labour Violations as Nearly 3,000 Are Deported

Over 11,000 Labour Violations Recorded in 6,707 Inspections Across Oman.

Dubai: Oman’s Ministry of Labour has imposed fines totalling OMR3.246 million and deported nearly 3,000 workers following a nationwide crackdown on labour law violations, according to its latest inspection figures.

The ministry said authorities conducted 6,707 inspection visits across Oman’s governorates as part of intensified efforts to enforce the Labour Law and improve compliance across the labour market.

The inspections identified 11,172 workers in breach of labour regulations, while 4,680 cases were referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action. The ministry said 2,944 workers were deported following enforcement procedures.

The inspection campaign also led to 272 employment opportunities being registered under settlement decisions. The ministry said Oman’s overall labour market compliance rate across its governorates reached 69.5 per cent.
