Dubai initiative targets student behavioural challenges through year-round awareness programmes on wellbeing, digital safety and healthy habits.

Bullying, vaping and electronic gaming addiction are among the most common behavioural challenges facing schools, prompting the launch of a year-round initiative designed to encourage students to adopt healthier habits, organisers said. They also identified a growing lack of interest in learning as another issue affecting some students.
The Dubai Women’s Association, through its Future Generations Events Department, has launched the Phenomena and Solutions initiative to identify negative behavioural trends in schools and tackle them through targeted awareness and guidance programmes.
The initiative targets students of all ages and educational stages and will run throughout the academic year under a comprehensive schedule of monthly awareness lectures and regular workshops. Organisers expect the number of participants to increase each year as the programme expands.
The campaign aims to build students’ self-confidence, encourage positive behaviour, raise awareness of healthy lifestyles, and promote a stronger understanding of mental and physical wellbeing. It also seeks to reinforce ethical values, encourage open dialogue among students, strengthen their sense of belonging, and identify key challenges facing young people while developing practical solutions to address them.
Organisers said the initiative was launched at the start of the academic year, when students are present on school campuses, ensuring that awareness programmes can achieve maximum impact.
The programme’s success will be evaluated through digital surveys measuring student satisfaction, behavioural changes and skills developed, along with feedback from schools and parents. The findings will be reviewed regularly to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
The planned awareness activities include lectures on selecting university and career pathways, as well as sessions focused on digital safety and responsible online practices.
Organisers said raising awareness among students can help reduce issues such as bullying, digital addiction and unhealthy behaviours, while promoting cooperation, respect, self-discipline and healthier lifestyles.
In the long term, the initiative aims to support the development of a more responsible generation capable of addressing future social challenges, while helping reduce the wider social and psychological impact linked to behavioural problems.
