Nearly 22,000 Pakistanis deported from Gulf countries in four months over visa violations, begging

At least 4,628 absconders were deported, while 1,294 were jailed and 968 were blacklisted, according to the latest figures.

Nearly 22,000 Pakistani nationals were deported from Gulf countries between March 1 and July 13, 2026, according to figures reported in local media after the issue was raised in Pakistan’s Parliament.

During the period, 21,951 Pakistani nationals were deported for various reasons, including visa overstays, begging and forged or fraudulent documents, among other violations.

The figures were disclosed in a written response to MNA Hameed Hussain after he raised the issue during Question Hour in Pakistan’s National Assembly on Thursday.

Many of those deported were classified as absconders, with 4,628 deported, 1,294 jailed and 968 blacklisted.

The figures also included 1,155 cases involving lost passports, while 689 Pakistanis were deported for visa violations and 342 were refused entry into Gulf countries.

The written response provided a country-by-country breakdown of some cases. Saudi Arabia deported 3,921 absconders, while the UAE deported 636. For visa-related offences, Saudi Arabia deported 1,924 Pakistanis, compared with 347 from the UAE and 295 from Oman.

In addition, nine Pakistani nationals were deported from the UAE through Interpol.
