Indian expat in Dubai wins Dh25,000 using a birthday-inspired Big Ticket entry.

Date:

Consistently selecting birthday dates as numbers ultimately resulted in a winning ticket for the family.

Dubai: A Dubai-based Indian expatriate has won Dh25,000 in Big Ticket’s second weekly e-draw for June, after a personal tradition of choosing family birthday dates brought him luck.

A long-time Dubai resident, Menezes has lived in the emirate with his family since 1998 and currently works at Dubai Islamic Bank.

Birthday number brings luck: Menezes first learned about Big Ticket through social media and began participating three years ago, regularly purchasing tickets since then.

  • The winning number this time turned out to be 12, matching his date of birth.

Winning call

  • Menezes said he had a feeling about the reason for the call when Big Ticket host Richard contacted him with the news.

Prize plans

  • The Dh25,000 prize arrived “at just the right time” for Menezes and his family. He plans to use the money for a family holiday scheduled in August, helping cover travel costs and making the trip more memorable.

Stay positive

  • Reflecting on his win, Menezes encouraged others not to lose hope.

More chances to win

  • Big Ticket’s second weekly e-draw for June saw four winners from India and Bangladesh each receive Dh25,000.

With two weekly e-draws still to go this month, four winners will be selected in each draw to receive Dh25,000.

Live draws

  • The weekly e-draws are streamed live on the Big Ticket YouTube channel at 11am.
