The seized counterfeit goods included luxury brand items such as clothing and footwear.

More than 900 counterfeit products have been seized in Fujairah since the beginning of the year as part of inspection campaigns conducted by the emirate’s municipality.
The confiscated items included imitation luxury brand products as well as counterfeit clothing and footwear.
The authority said legal action has been initiated against the violators, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding consumers and curbing the circulation of counterfeit goods in the market.
The first campaign, conducted in January 2026, resulted in the seizure and confiscation of several counterfeit trademarked products.
The second campaign, carried out on May 12, led to the confiscation of the following items:
- More than 900 counterfeit sports shoes
- 19 counterfeit sandals
- 8 counterfeit suits
Authorities in the UAE have recently urged residents to remain cautious when making purchases and to report suspicious products or misleading advertisements.
The UAE has intensified its efforts to combat commercial fraud through Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2023 on Combating Commercial Fraud, which introduces strict penalties for individuals involved in producing, selling or distributing counterfeit and unsafe goods.
Under Article 4 of the law, the import, manufacture, production, sale, storage, transport, trading, promotion or possession of counterfeit, adulterated or spoiled goods is prohibited. Attempting to carry out any of these activities is also considered a violation.
Last week, Dubai Police warned that promoting or selling counterfeit products through social media platforms is an offence that can lead to legal action.
Meanwhile, authorities in Ras Al Khaimah handled 937 consumer complaints in 2025, resolving 95 per cent of the cases, according to official figures.
Of these complaints, 28 involved counterfeit products carrying registered trademarks in the emirate’s markets. Authorities responded swiftly, with inspection teams deployed after receiving the reports.
