Sharjah: In response to the recent heavy rains, Sharjah Charity International swiftly activated its crisis management system to assist affected families across the emirate.

Ali Mohammed Al Rashidi, Head of the Crisis and Disaster Team, said the rapid deployment was made possible through prior planning and coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and key partners, ensuring an immediate and organised relief effort.

Three specialised field teams were dispatched across Sharjah—including the city, Central Region, and Eastern Region—to assess damage and identify urgent needs. The teams visited affected households, carried out on-site evaluations, and prepared detailed reports to ensure aid was delivered efficiently to those who needed it most.

Food and essentials provided
Relief teams distributed blankets and essential supplies to families affected by the rains, while also arranging daily meals for hundreds of residents.

Since the start of the crisis, over 1,000 meals have been delivered each day, covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. An additional 2,000 meals were organised to strengthen relief efforts.

Financial support for families
In addition to emergency relief, the charity provided direct financial assistance to help 35 affected families manage the aftermath of the heavy rains.

Al Rashidi commended the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and other partner organisations, highlighting that their collaboration was crucial in ensuring timely and effective aid delivery.
