Fog advisory issued as visibility falls to nearly zero across western inland regions.

Date:

Temperatures expected to drop as rain and strong winds move across the UAE.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning for potential fog formation, with horizontal visibility expected to deteriorate at times, dropping to near zero in some western inland areas from 1:20 am to 9:30 am this morning.

The alert comes as the UAE prepares for unsettled weather and a significant drop in temperatures.

On Wednesday, skies are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of scattered rainfall across various areas.

Temperatures are forecast to fall noticeably, accompanied by light to moderate south-westerly to north-westerly winds, strengthening over the sea and causing blowing dust. Wind speeds are expected to range from 15–25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h.

Sea conditions are expected to be rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.

On Thursday, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will continue, with temperatures dropping further. There is also a chance of daytime rainfall over some coastal, northern, and eastern areas.

Winds will persist from the south-west to north-west at 15–25 km/h, gusting up to 40 km/h and strengthening over the sea. The Arabian Gulf will remain rough, while the Oman Sea will be slight to moderate, occasionally becoming rough.

By Friday, weather is expected to turn fair to partly cloudy, with clouds developing at times over some southern areas. North-westerly winds will be light to moderate, freshening over the sea at 10–25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h. The Arabian Gulf will remain rough, and the Oman Sea will be moderate to rough.

On Saturday, fair to partly cloudy conditions will continue. Humidity is expected to rise by night and into Sunday morning across some coastal and inland areas. North-westerly winds will stay light to moderate, freshening at sea at 10–25 km/h, reaching 40 km/h. The Arabian Gulf will be rough, easing to moderate later, while the Oman Sea will be moderate to slight.
