Flights to India remain canceled until June 14

Date:

UAE immigration department had on April 25 extended the suspension of passenger entry from India to the UAE until further notice.

Emirates Airline has confirmed on Sunday that the suspension of passenger flights from India to the UAE will be until June 14. The airline said on its website that passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.

UAE Nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions, who comply with the revised published Covid-19 protocols, are exempted.

Affected passengers have been advised to contact their respective travel agents or Emirates call centres for rebooking options.

The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) had on May 4 extended an initial 10-day suspension of passenger entry from India to the UAE until further notice. The flights were first suspended from 11.59pm on April 24 as India was caught in the midst of a deadly second wave of the coronavirus.

An official with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GCAA) had earlier told Khaleej Times: “A final date about when the suspension will be lifted is under continuous assessment. We are closely monitoring the situation in India.”
