Dubai’s flagship tournament for government employees has been postponed as a precautionary measure in light of the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

The Dubai Media Office tweeted on Sunday that Gov Games 2020 has been postponed “in line with local and international measures being taken to ensure the health and safety of the public”.

Over 170 teams had confirmed their participation in the event, which was scheduled to be held on March 18-21 at Dubai’s Kite Beach. The media office did not say when the tournament would be held.

The third edition of the Gov Games features mental and physical challenges that aim to redefine what is possible, promote diversity, celebrate teamwork and spread tolerance among participants from around the world.
